💔 Are you a “love 'em and leave 'em” virtual networker? 💔
Do you say you'll follow-up with that email / call / text / link / invite, etc. after a great Zoom video meeting but then you drop the proverbial ball?
If you're not going to “give to gain” then don't bother networking. Seriously.
Networking isn't all about you, you, you. It's all about them, them, them.
Especially NOW, when we all need to support each other to advance our careers, grow our businesses, and keep our family, friends, and colleagues safe and healthy.
Being HELPFUL and GENEROUS today with your time, talent, and resources is the formula for your success tomorrow.
What's the cure? Institute my 24-hour networking rule.
The networking rule is, you have 24-hours to deliver on what you promised to do.
Because after that you're out of sight out of mind and it's an opportunity lost.
If you promised NOTHING, still send a thank you note for their time.
Yes, still send a thank you note EVEN if you felt like it wasn't valuable to you (because you could be incredibly important to them).
Who will you deliver to and thank for their valuable time today? Shout out your gratitude for their networking
