Why do I do this work? As an over-achieving executive, I nearly lost my battle with work addiction and my soul to meaningless “billable” hours.
I’m a former senior executive of global high-technology public relations agencies. I know exactly what it’s like to be in the corner office running operations, securing and servicing clients, developing staff, managing to P&Ls and boards, and selling a company. I’ve counseled executives at Fortune 500, publicly held, and high-profile start-ups organizations during critical communications events such as IPOs, M&A, financial earnings, crisis issues, launches, and $200M venture capital deals.
As a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Recovery Coach (CCAR/OASAS), I bring nearly 20 years of working in the corporate machine as an MBA to the table with you. I know exactly what it's like out there; very little surprises me.
I've re-dedicated my career to partnering with you, and as many others as possible, to happily co-exist with your work AND still have all the important things in life – health, financial security, relationships, spirituality, a nurturing home, and fun (I know that's scary for some of us)!
Ten years ago, I quit my high-paying global job as Managing Director, North America for a mobile technology PR firm. I was afraid that if I stayed I would have a heart attack.
Quitting was the scariest thing I've ever done in my life. Way scarier than jumping out of an airplane (I’ve done that!). I felt like I was dying on the inside. I thought I was going crazy. It was a Catch-22. I had invested 20 hard years into my work; and now it was the enemy. But I couldn't enjoy my resources dead.
There's very little that I haven't tried to heal myself. Everything from yoga retreats in Bali, Indonesia, ashrams in the Bahamas, and Native American burning bowls in Sedona to 12-Step programs, cognitive behavioral therapy, and caffeine/meat/alcohol/sugar fasting.
I'm happy to report that my life is bigger, better, and more fulfilling than ever. Is it different as an entrepreneur and coach? Heck yeah, but it's a new lease on life. Is it always easy? Nope – but that's how real life is.
Will I ask you to quit? Absolutely not. That was my solution, not necessarily yours. But sometimes extreme problems, require extreme solutions.
After all the decision making, the next big question is “What's Next?” And this is where the search for heart-centered leadership and purposeful work enters your life.
The joy of rediscovering your natural talents, curiosity, and delight in yourself is more than worth the journey. This is THE KEY to a sustainable transformation with your work.
I'm here to guide you through the process of re-evaluating your work and figuring out what your next big step is. You may stay exactly where you are but change your attitude, uplevel your management techniques and self-care, or negotiate new employment terms. Other clients find superior work for more money and less hassle! And others blaze a new path by starting their own businesses, retiring, or going back to school.
