Frequently Asked Questions
My success rate is nearly 100% when the client truly wants a job and actively commits to doing the work. Most of my clients find employment within 2-4 months, and those who started the search before our partnership often succeed even quicker, within 6-8 weeks.
Yes, almost always, unless the client makes a deliberate choice that steers them from wanting a new job. Here are some common scenarios:
- Changes in life circumstances or priorities
- The Discovery Process reveals a non-job-related path
- Choosing to stay at the current job after realizing it’s a better fit
- Accepting a counter-offer from the current employer after resigning
- Not following through with the job search as advised
Kelley Joyce, the principal coach at The Truth at Work, will personally conduct all coaching sessions. If I'm unavailable, you'll receive notice, and we’ll reschedule promptly.
The process begins with a free 45-minute Career Consult. Based on that conversation, we will determine which program is right for your situation:
- Discovery Program
Assesses your work history, skills, needs, and preferences to create a detailed, written, and actionable career plan.
- Job Search Program
Propels you ahead with an updated elevator pitch, strategic plan, resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, job search management, and improved interview and negotiation skills.
- Lead & Accelerate
Perfect for those looking to enhance their job performance with a personalized 90-day achievement plan.
That depends on which program you choose to pursue:
- Discovery Program: 8 weeks
- Job Search Program: 6 weeks (or longer by request).
- Full Program (Discovery + Job Search): 4 months
I meet with career coaching clients once a week or every other week. For entrepreneurial coaching, I encourage meeting twice per month.
All coaching sessions take place via Zoom. I do not offer in-person coaching sessions.
For the Discovery Program and parts of the Job Search Program, expect about 30-60 minutes of “homework” each week. Also, allocate time for networking, job applications, and interviews.
About half of my clients are actively employed while going through a career coaching program so I designed each program to be adaptable for any circumstance. We will tailor the program based on how, and when, you want to conduct your job search.
My programs are flexible since we always meet on a 1:1 basis, making you the primary focus of every session. While following a core curriculum and proven methodologies, we can customize the sessions to ensure we meet your individual needs.
If you accept a job offer during the 6-week program, we’ll transition the remaining coaching sessions to our Performance Acceleration coaching to help you seamlessly transition into your new role.
You'll use your new skills, tools, and confidence from the program to continue your search until you land a new opportunity. Many clients return for additional ad hoc sessions to prep and practice for key interviews.

I loved having a successful career in Public Relations, until one day I just didn’t anymore. When I started as an assistant, I handled tasks such as faxing press releases and other administrative duties. Over time, I climbed to the top of the ladder and served as Managing Director of U.S. Operations. Ultimately though, I fell ill to workaholism and burnout, prompting my decision to end my corporate career in 2011. Read my full journey here.

Yes, individuals approaching retirement age represent the fastest-growing segment of clients requiring career coaching services. The traditional concept of retirement is rapidly changing, moving away from the hard stop at age 65. Instead, many clients want to explore a custom-built experience or pursue a passion-for-pay approach.
I provide services to individuals of any age who are interested in finding work in any capacity—full or part-time, paid or unpaid.
Full-service coaching programs typically require a four-figure investment, and Resume Writing Services are available for an average of $1,000. While I do not offer a sliding scale, my products and services are priced to fit any budget.
