Do you put the “pro” in procrastination? Work procrastination and anxiety will hold you back in your career search.
Putting off your dry cleaning may not have consequences. But delaying your career search certainly will.
Here’s how:
If your toxic workplace is taking a toll on your mental or physical health, it’s time to get out. Fast.
Staying at a bad job will leave you under-compensated, undervalued, and unhappy.
It will take time to weigh your options and form an exit strategy. This is why it’s best to start soon.
If you’ve been out of work for a long time or are re-entering the workforce, you’ll be spending some time getting your basics together (i.e. resume, LinkedIn profile, etc.).
Don’t underestimate the value of your personal brand. Don't risk being passed over for the perfect opportunity just because you didn’t showcase your skills.
If you feel stuck, know it will only last for so long.
Burnout may lead to poor performance. Staying put could mean you retire unfilled. Neither is ideal.
The best antidote to procrastination? FOMO. Your dream job may be hiring tomorrow. Do not miss your big break because you weren’t ready, or because of work procrastination and anxiety.
Stop delaying that first step. Let's talk live via video; book your consult here.
