Lame Verbs in Your Resume

Are you guilty of wasting valuable space in your resume with language that doesn't impress?

My top 3 pet peeve verbs are:

1. Supported

2. Helped

3. Assisted

And my least favorite (which isn't even a verb) is the phrase “Responsible for”…

These verbs strip all the power and glory away from you and put it on someone else who gets to take the credit for what you did.

Claim your strategies, implementations, and results!!

And while you're at it, please don't under-articulate your results either.

What other “Non-Power” verbs do you see in resumes?
